Classic documentary documenting how staid, post-war Britain embraced the radical, freewheeling jazz movement and made it its own.
We will be screening part one of the documentary, which covers the period from post-war era where Britain saw the emergence of two distinct scenes - trad and modern jazz. Issues of class, race and the first stirrings of youth rebellion collide in the underground jazz clubs of Soho. Key players included Ronnie Scott, Humphrey Lyttelton, Acker Bilk, Tubby Hayes, Joe Harriott, Chris Barber and Stan Tracey.
We are thrilled to introduce this TV Gem.
