Dolly Parton was iconic in the truest sense of the word and her death at the age of 80 seemed too soon for many of us. In addition to winning 11 Grammys and gaining a further 52 nominations for her songs, Parton was also an acclaimed actor and a generous philanthropist. This month we remember her with a rare screening of Straight Talk, providing the perfect platform for the Dolly sass and sweetness that she was so famous for off-screen.   

This romantic comedy from 1992 plays on a case of mistaken identity after Shirlee Kenyon is fired as a dance instructor for giving too much life coaching to her clients. Tired of small-town life, she moves to Chicago, where instead of starting her new job as a radio receptionist, Shirlee goes live with her advice to dial-in listeners. Much to the chagrin of her boss, played by Griffin Dunne, she becomes an overnight success, but will her lack of credentials backfire on everyone?
