This is a love film about friendship. DOG lives in Manhattan and he's tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, all to the rhythm of '80s NYC music. Until one summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach. Will they ever meet again?
Robot Dreams is based on the comic of the same name by Sara Varon and tells its story without any verbal dialogue - it's a perfect piece of visual storytelling that will charm both children and parents alike. The film appeared in the 76th Cannes Film Festival last year and went on to win the award for Best Film in the Contrechamp section of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
"Genius filmmaker Pablo Berger has made a thoroughly grown-up movie that has something important to say to children too. It deserves to become a cult classic!" - Shadows on the Wall
