Join us for Club Cinoche on Thurs 5 September, a night of French Film and conversation led experienced teacher, Alison from The French Space.

This evening will include a full film screening alongside an interactive conversation class with other Francophiles for this classic summer comedy that introduced the character of Monsieur Hulot. Coming to a beachside hotel for a vacation, he accidentally (but good-naturedly) causes havoc. It's vacation time as Jacques Tati romps through the most gloriously mad lark ever to tickle the ribs of young and old alike!

What better way to practise your French than to relax, socialise and link it to something of cultural interest? Come and view a fabulous French film in a beautiful and cosy independent cinema and enjoy informal opportunities throughout the evening to discuss the movie en français! We provide prompts, phrases and vocabulary to get you speaking about the film in pairs and small groups. The bar will be open for a glass of wine or beer to complement the experience.

  • "Great - would love to come again for more films. Merci pour une espace pour parler en francais (francais tres mauvais!)"
  • "A lovely evening more like this sil vous plait."
  • "Tres bonne soiree."
  • "Ce soir a etc parfait Merci Bien"

With French cinéma there's plenty to talk about. Come and unleash your inner French film-critic!

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
