Introducing our new Saturday afternoon film club for 8 - 14 year olds to learn about films and film language.

This month's theme is: The Art of Action!

The session includes an interactive workshop plus a related PG feature film led by our experienced workshop leader team.

For our Art of Action special, we are delighted to look at Kung Fu Stunt Fighting - where the stunts are carefully staged to make sure that no animals or children are harmed in the making of any movie! The session is a chance to look behind the scenes of cartoon-style action in today's films and learn more about how the actors and stunt coordinators created these scenes without hurting anyone!

For the workshop we are delighted to partner with 1066 Wing Chun, to explore the importance of self-defence, and discuss the safety and skill in making film stunts safe!

Developed by a woman, Wing Chun Kung Fu is a concept-based martial art that does not rely on strength. It can be used by anyone, regardless of age, size or fitness level. This workshop will be led by Simo Sarah, who is one of the senior instructors at the school, and also a Yoga teacher and active environmentalist with a degree in Environmental Science and currently studying for a Marine Biology Degree. She works extremely hard supporting and advising the young girls at the school and is a strong role model for empowerment.
