Tish
A gripping portrait of story of working-class photographer Tish Murtha, whose passion captured the impact of Thatcherism and Austerity Britain.
Director: Paul SNG
Cast includes: Maxine Peake
90 mins / 2023 / UK
A moving portrait of social documentary photographer and trailblazer Tish Murtha, who dedicated her life to documenting the lives of working-class communities in North East England.
Starring Maxine Peake, Tish is a love letter from a daughter to her mother. But also a love letter to those forgotten and left on the scrapheap. The images she captured with her Olympus camera, now hang in the Tate Modern. She captured the working class world of the '70s and '80s North east like no other and was born from the very soul of the places and people she photographed.
