Will your Gods forgive you the sins committed out of love to your child? A Sherpa family breaks a taboo to earn money for their son’s schooling, after being asked by a group of westerners to lead a Himalayan expedition up the never-conquered east wall of the Kumbhakarna Mountain in Nepal – one of the most holy of mountains.
The east face of the mountain (7710 m) is one of the most difficult challenges in alpinism today. The leading alpinists take part in the expedition. The holy mountain confronts both the climbers and Sherpas with equal harshness. It’s a sacred mountain that is not supposed to be ascended.
