The internationally acclaimed musician, poet and artist returns - bringing songs, stories and visions to navigate the shadows of human experience. Jo Beth Young (FKA Talitha Rise/RISE) is a hidden gem rising from the alt/neo-folk and prog scenes. Her ethereal vocals and mesmeric musical style have been enrapturing and provoking deep emotional responses from audiences since her 2018 debut album An Abandoned Orchid House and 2019’s follow-up Strangers.
Writing from a place of raw authenticity, her poetic world comes armed with lullabies and battle cries interwoven. At times heartbreaking, but always hopeful and inspiring in the end. Jo Beth Young's live shows are known to bring deep, emotional magic to the audience, capturing the attention of the national press who have described her live shows as "unmissable" and “exquisite”.
Now, The Shadow Navigation Show brings a new, beautifully-crafted, live experience aligned with the much anticipated new album Broken Spells. Spiritually charged storytelling, hypnotic original songs with an atmospheric film and visual backdrop - this promises to be an unforgettable night with very special guest SERIOUS CHILD and friends.
Serious Child is songwriter and roots musician Alan Young from West Sussex. He draws from a wide range of acoustic musical influences from folk to pop to bossa nova to explore the world around us with a poet’s ear for emotion and a comedian’s eye for everyday detail. His 2021 album with Andy Ruddy, Talk About The Weather was shortlisted for Fatea Album of the Year.
