A charming and fanciful debut tackles mother/daughter relationships against the backdrop of a shared obsession with Bollywood fantasy! In Fawzia Mirza's film, a queer Pakistani Canadian girl ('Sex Lives of College Girls' star Amrit Kaur) struggles to reckon with the chasm between her and her mother.

While paying homage to the classic Bollywood film and song “Meri Sapno Ki Rani” (literally “The Queen of My Dreams”), the film’s heart lies in Mirza’s very personal look at her own family dynamics and quest for self-discovery. The film is an insightful, comedic, and moving examination of South Asian identity.

With introduction from Asten Holmes-Elliott, artist and filmmaker, committee member for the Scottish Queer International Film Festival, and part of Widening The Lens, a talent development scheme of diverse filmmakers.
