The film that established Peter Weir as a major filmmaker is a critically acclaimed classic of Australian cinema, based on the book by Joan Lindsay.
Three students and a school teacher disappear on an excursion to Hanging Rock, in Victoria, on Valentine's Day, 1900. This atmospheric film follows those that disappeared amongst the rocks and trees of that landscape, and those that stayed behind. The film delights in the asking of questions, not the answering of them.
With BAFTA-winning photography and a memorably haunting score, Picnic At Hanging Rock remains one of the most beautifully enigmatic films ever made.
This film is screening in connection with our Woodland Bathing workshop during the day at 1pm.
