Part of our Nuclear Season
180 mins / 2023 / USA
Join us for a second chance to see Christopher Nolan's hit of the summer. In case you didnt know, Oppenheimer is a dramatisation of the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who had a large hand in the development of the atomic bomb, thus helping end World War 2 but also giving him the dubious credit of being the "father of the atomic bomb".
We see his life from university days all the way to post-WW2, where his fame saw him embroiled in political machinations.
The film benefits from Cillian Murphy's tour-de-force performance in the title role and stunning visuals by cinematographer, Hoyte van Hoytema in his fourth collaboration with Nolan.
This screening is part of our mini-Nuclear Season this Autumn, curated by Dave Valentine, DJ and Film Fanatic, who will provide an introduction to the film at the Friday night screening.
Thursday morning screenings include a free cuppa with your ticket.
