2.45pm Richard Todd: Fine, Fine, Everything’s Fine
Neurotic, overwrought and, somehow, award-winning comedian Todd reminisces on his experiences working at a drop-in for homeless and vulnerable adults, and running art groups there. Expect to discover: alternative receptacles for tepid mince takeaways when Tupperware is unavailable; the human solution to broken windscreens wipers in a rain storm; how the phrase ‘double bed’ is not to be taken lightly. He will also be drawing to help ease his anxiety. May his doodles keep his demons at bay.
“A comic with the ability to do surrealism, storytelling and exquisitely crafted wordplay all in the same few minutes.” The Scotsman ****
4pm Juliette Burton: Going Rogue
Every great superhero must start by saving herself. Join a geek girl on a quest to live her best nerd life. As a young nerd, Juliette loved to dress up, and she loved Rogue from the X-Men – funny, dark past, great costume.
Now, decades later, she’s an award-winning comedian and mental health activist masked in glitter and sequins. Join her on a journey from cosplay to confidence as Juliette asks "where does our power really lie? What can playing dress up reveal about ourselves? Can a superhero story help us rewrite our own?"
Expect gamification and introvert-friendly interactivity which evolves and mutates with every performance. Edinburgh Fringe sell-out 2015/16/17/18/23. As seen on BBC One and ITV.
- “A huge nerd; a safe space. Simply marvellous.” ★★★★★ Starburst Magazine
