National Cinema Day Auction and Memorabilia Sale 2024

Drop in on Saturday 7 September any time between 2.30pm – 5.30pm to pick up some cool film-related items and support the Electric Palace at the same time.

You're invited to an extra special auction and memorabilia sale to help raise funds for our beloved Old Town venue!

Drop in at any time during the afternoon and enjoy the fun!

Cinema habits and the new reality

Run entirely by part-time staff and volunteers our special independent cinema has been serving the community for 22 years. Facing rising costs, independent cinemas are struggling to survive across the country, with venues like the historic Electric Cinema in Birmingham closing down, and more locally the Sussex Exchange.

As a community interest company we are a not-for-profit organisation however we are still subject to 20% VAT and a minimum of 35% distributor fees on all our ticket prices. Without regular external funding we rely solely on our ticket and bar income to cover our costs. In order to maintain our lovely venue and make necessary repairs and improvements following our recent break-in we are launching this new fundraising event.

You came out in force as the amazing community you are when we held a post-Covid fundraiser enabling us to continue through a particularly tricky period.

So please come along for a fun afternoon, and pick up some cool film-related items and support the Electric Palace at the same time! And please head out to the cinema when you can to enjoy new releases and other gems in the company of others - we need you!

Can't make it on the 7th September?

If you can't make it along to the fundraiser itself you can still support us in loads of ways, including:
