We do not have step-free access.The cinema is located on the second floor of a Grade II listed building and is not wheelchair accessible however, we are working hard to improve our accessibility where we can.
We hold regular wheelchair accessible screenings with our local partners.
Our venue has a hearing loop and we schedule regular subtitled screenings for D/deaf and hard of hearing.
There are regular relaxed screenings for autistic and neurodivergent audiences.

Anti-Racism Statement
The Electric Palace denounces racism in all its forms and beleives We all need to play a part in creating an equal society. As individuals and as an organisation, we will listen, learn, speak up and take real action against racial injustice in order to create necessary systemic change.
We know that a diverse programme is essential, but it is not enough. We understand that people of colour need to be better represented in our workforce and governance and we need to continue to work in collaboration with people of colour within our communities.
We commit to fighting racial injustice in order to effect change in the cultural and civic sector, local communities and beyond.
We work with the Refugee Buddy Project and Safe Havens to offer social spaces for the well-being of refugees in our local area. We will continue to play our part in
supporting these organisations and the individuals they are trying to help.
Our Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Journey
At Electric Palace we wanted explore our role as a community hub and wanted to create a more accessible venue for all the different communites in the local area, despite the constraints working in our Grade 2 Listed building place on being unable to provide wheelchair access*
*This has been investigated and is not viable given the measurments of our space
** When possible we offer Accessible Pop-Ups with local partner organisations We wanted our team, the people and audiences we work with to feel that the Electric Palace is a place that listens and takes action against any form of injustice and discrimination – be that across our programmes, within our working environment or towards our audiences and communities.
We worked with the UK's leading Learning Disabled Film Festival Oska Bright Film Festival and equality consultant Lizzie Banks to develop a Relaxed Screenings strand and annual Festival inviting neurodivergent audiences and creatives to contribute to our programme and help shape our front of house offering, facilities and internal signage.
We co-create with Afri-co-Lab, local community hub and Anna Maria Nabirye to develop our Blackity Black screening strand to spotlight black and global majority filmmakers and films in our programme, take part in anti-racist team training and enhance our recruitment practices and front of house welcome. The work is continuous and on-going, with additional training from the Refugee Buddy Project and Safe Havens to develop our bystander training and become a registered Safe Haven.
We worked with Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance and Peccadillo Pictures to develop our work for LGBTQUI+ communities, created gender neutral toilets and are currently working on further funding to develop this work with further external consultancy and inclusion team-training.
We are committed to ensuring we hire people that reflect the South East in its broadest form and we are taking action to improve representation from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse, LGBTQ+ and lower socio-economic communities and those
with a disability.
