Cronos 4K + Introduction (15)

Guillermo del Toro’s breakthrough Mexican vampire movie blends skin-crawling body horror with a steampunk aesthetic. With Ron Perlman and Federico Luppi.

Fresh and bracing, Guillermo del Toro’s feature debut announced the arrival of a strikingly original cinematic voice, and his take on the vampire movie has become regarded as one of the most important Mexican films, and horror films, of all time.

Starring Federico Luppi and Ron Perlman (who both went on to become regular cast members in del Toro’s films), Cronos won nine Ariel awards in Mexico and the Cannes Critics Week Grand Prize.

This new 4K restoration celebrates this achievement to coincide with BFI honouring del Toro with a fellowship to mark his achievement as director and cinephile!

'An astonishing debut', Mark Kermode

‘A must see for horror fans’, Sunday Telegraph

‘A unique, terrifying mini masterpiece’, Empire
