The Motel Life film stillWe are honoured that the acclaimed American author and musician, Willy Vlautin (pictured, left), will soon be walking up our golden steps to introduce the film adaptation of his book, The Motel Life.

Emile Hirsch and Stephen Dorff (see pic, above) star as a pair of working class brothers who flee their Reno motel after getting involved in a hit-and-run accident. With the film, directors Gabe & Alan Polsky highlight Willy's skill for finding beauty and hope in the lives of people who inhabit a world of casinos, gun shops and dive bars.

Book to Film club connection

Willy’s appearance, as part of our Book to Film Club series, coincides with the performance that evening of his current band, The Delines. Our friends over at Music's Not Dead record shop are co-hosting the evening show at the De La Warr Pavilion in nearby Bexhill. So, there’s time to make it to both events!
