Moo-moo moooo-vie with Q&A: Sun 8th SeptemberThe Moo Man will play at the Electric Palace, Hastings on Sunday 8th September.
Directors Andy Heathcote, Heike Bachelier and Steve Hook will be at the screening to talk raw milk, cows and family farming on Sunday 8th September, 8pm.
Check out The Moo Man trailer as a taster of the film, which is an endearing, intimate movie that tackles some surprisingly big issues. Featuring the organic dairy farmer Steve Hook from Hailsham, East Sussex and his favourite cow Ida, it was the surprise hit of this year’s Sundance Film Festivals in Utah and London.
Steve Hook is determined to keep his family farm small, organic and sustainable. To achieve this he sells raw, organic milk directly to the consumer via door-to-door delivery and at farmer’s markets.
As a publicity stunt Steve takes Ida to Eastbourne for a photo shoot – an experience she enjoys so much, she digs in her heels and refuses to move when it’s time to leave. It soon becomes clear that Steve has a rare relationship with his animals, a bond that many of us have forgotten can still exist. The filmmakers are self-releasing The Moo Man funded by the recent Kickstarter campaign which successfully raised £27,000 from 656 pledges. Following the film’s theatrical release on 12 July, the filmmakers have been taking the film up and down the country.
And it's our pleasure to be on their tour itinerary! We look forward to seeing you all at the screening.
