Support The Forest in Me fundraising campaign

Get involved with a unique documentary project from Electric Palace Director, Rebecca E Marshall.

Photo of Agafya LykovaThe Forest in Me is a feature documentary about a 70 year old woman, Agafya Lykova (pictured, right), who lives alone in the Siberian Forest, 150km away from the nearest town.

Agafya was born into this situation, only meeting another human outside of her family when she was nearly 40 years old. The last family member died 25 years ago and since then she has lived alone.

She has no photographic records of her life - yet she makes drawings....

Rebecca has been developing this documentary for a year and gaining great support; exec producers from Passion Pictures (UK - Searching For Sugar Man, The Imposter) and Nomad Films (Canada) as well as Greek producers (Miss Violence, winner of Best Actor and Director at Venice Film Fest 2013).

For full financial backing she needs to make a journey to film the important first section of the film. For this she aims to raise £14,000 to cover travel costs and insurance. Access to Agafya is viable only by helicopter, hence the expense. The trip will take place at the end of October 2014.
