Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars poster

Sunday 8 November: 12.30pm

Monday 9 November: 8pm

In collaboration with the Hastings Supports Refugees Group, we will be screening the uplifting and courageous, multi award-winning film, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars.

All proceeds from cinema ticket sales (£5 each) will go to the Hastings Supports Refugees group, who will use the money raised to help refugees, asylum seekers and migrants both abroad, in response to the current refugee crisis, and locally.

We've been heartened by the extremely generous response from local artists, businesses and restaurants for their donations to the not-to-be-missed raffle, which we'll host alongside each of the screenings.

So support the cause and grab yourself a raffle ticket or two and you could win something beautiful for your home from one of our local artists, dine with a friend at yummy venues such as The Crown, The Pelican Diner, Half Man Half Burger, and many more. You can buy raffle tickets in advance even if you can't make it to either screening.

Have a prize to donate? Want to buy raffle tickets? Can you display a promotional poster? Please get in touch: 07814 119 467.

Get your tickets for Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars on Sunday 8 November, 12.30pm or Monday 9 November, 8pm.

About Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars

The film follows a group of musicians who formed a band after being displaced from their homes during the brutal civil war in Sierra Leone. It shows their rise from the ashes of war to inspire a nation to believe in the healing power of music.

“Their music, played on drums and electric guitars, bass, and keyboards, is a lilting, infectious, often joyful sound, influenced by Jamaican reggae and reflecting their wartime experiences simply and literally.” - Sam Graham,

With many thanks to Ross Andrews-Clifford for poster design in support of the cause.

Tickets are available in advance online from this website, or on the door.
Doors and the bar open at 7.15pm, screenings start at 8pm.
