Hastings Filmmakers Night

Come along to see talented local film buffs show off their cinematic creations, on Saturday 22nd March, 8pm.

Following the success of last year’s Hastings Film Makers’ Festival, which celebrated an amazing programme of locally produced new films, this is a chance to see the latest work from this vibrant and innovative scene.

Join us for a night to showcase new short films from local talents including Nichola Bruce, Mark French, Andrew Griffin, Richard Heslop, Roland Jarvis, David Jackson, Andrew Kotting, Rebecca E. Marshall, Nick Pilton, Philip Sanderson, Nick Snelling, Toby Tatum and more.

We will be presenting several premières including 'Shooting the Hunter' (pictured, left), Mark French and Richard Heslop's tribute to Derek Jarman on the anniversary of his death.

Nichola Bruce and Sam Sharples also showcase the mystical "Elixir", and other premieres screening on the night are Andrew Kotting's disturbing vision of nature "Above them the world beyond" and two chapters of Rebecca Marshall's new series inspired by Montaigne's essays.

Nick Snelling will be showing the third of his films made in the waters of the English Channel, this time from Beachy Head. "All these locally sourced films represent the continuing culture of innovative film making from this south coast hotspot," says Mark French, who has programmed the event.

Films will be presented with a Q&A from the directors.
