Local artists spruce up our foyer

Drop by your Hastings Old Town cinema to see works from Melissa White, Nick Kadomtzeff, Liz Finch and Nichola Bruce.

Leigh Dyer noticeboard at Electric PalaceThanks to Melissa White for the new look of the foyer, including her interpretation of Man Ray’s photo ‘Tears’ (1930-32) – a large single eye, gazing towards our screening space, with the emotive expression of a silent screen star in a film still.

A new noticeboard (see, right) has a fabulous frame designed by Hastings’ famous metal sculptor, Leigh Dyer.

Local signwriter Nick Kadomtzeff has created the frosted glass design in the front door based on an image from ‘A Trip to the Moon’ George Méliès 1902, one of the most influential films of the twentieth century. We thought it was a great image to welcome you all in!

Liz Finch and Nichola Bruce have generously donated a specially created joint artwork for the entrance.

Tickets are available in advance online from this website, or on the door.
Doors and the bar open at 7.15pm, screenings start at 8pm.
